10 ways the 99% have the advantage

Lately, I’ve been writing about class warfare. I think most of us are in denial over what’s actually going on, what the term “concentration of wealth” actually means. How it’s meant to play out. In that regard, the treatment of Puerto Rico has been a real wake up call for me.

We are under attack. We are being subjected — on all fronts — to class ‘war’fare. And as a teacher of the martial arts, I can’t stay quiet. It would be irresponsible.

An Essential Point of self defense

We do not want to engage our attackers in their field or area of strength. Because that’s where they are stronger.

Never fight an opponent on his terms. — an Essential Point of Self Defense (Great River Jiu Jitsu)

Let’s compare, and look at some ways we hold the advantage.

10 ways the 99% have the upper hand

  1. Shear Numbers: The power and wealth of the 1% is vast, but our numbers are vast and overwhelming. In the billions, at last count.

  2. Creating Balance: The one percent’s actions often result in creating distractions, imbalance and even division. Having said that, their minds are focused on greed, but ours are open to fairness and balance. Nature always seeks balance. Nature is our ally.

  3. Unity: Their tactics are divide and conquer, but once we unify there is no stopping us. We are stronger at conquering them, then they are at dividing us.

  4. One Mind: A genuinely unified mind has no room for selfishness and greed. Therefore, will they can deploy a unified strategy, they cannot unify their own minds. Their contamination makes it impossible for them to win against more unified minds. As long as those unified minds unify with each other. This is the essence of socially beneficial change.

  5. Calmness: Their minds aren’t still, nor are they calm. Ours aren’t either, unless we become loyal to achieving and maintaining calmness.

  6. The Terrain: They have the high ground, but they fear falling because they live so high. We are already on the ground, and greet them as they fall. Don’t forget, 90% of all physical fights end up on the ground. Whenever they stumble, hesitate or fall, they land where we live. We own the terrain.

  7. Improvement: Their power is found in conceit and arrogance, in dollars and the power of selfishness and negativity. Their way of living only ‘improves’ them in these limited manners. Our army is that of the open mind, setting us up for faster improvement. We can pivot quickly, like start-ups. We are the humane.

  8. Momentum: Their fortress is money and power. Ours is the unstoppable rise of humanity. They’re surrounded by us every minute of every day, with only a thin, breach-able moat of isolation to protect them. Their fortresses are illusions of strength. This can freeze their momentum and provide a more flexible opponent a stronger set of tools and weapons.

  9. Clarity: They can’t focus like we can, because they have too much on their minds, too much to defend, too many lies or illusions to maintain. We win this round.

  10. Truth: They can’t focus on the simple, because they are too convinced they are so much smarter than the rest of us. Again, we win.

Like it or not, you’re involved in class warfare

Remember, when you claim membership in the 99%, you have 99% of humanity in you, with you and standing behind you.
